This is the document to use if you are rescheduling the interview and this works whether you are the candidate or the company. So you can use this whichever side you are on.


Subject Line: Re: Interview for [Job Title] Position

 

Dear [Title and Name of Recipient],

 

I am writing to inform you that due to [circumstance], I am unfortunately unable to [attend/conduct] the interview at the previously arranged time. I am very sorry for this inconvenience.

 

If possible, could you please let me know as soon as you can whether we can reschedule the interview for the following time:

  • [Date and time]

Alternatively, please feel free to let me know when a suitable time would be for you. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and I do hope we can come to a suitable arrangement.

[circumstance] - Make sure you give an honest reason for this.

 

[attend/conduct] - If you are the candidate, if you are applying for a job, you say 'attend'. But if you are the employer, then you say 'conduct'
